The path is well-maintained and leads all the way to the lake, with wonderful views. You can easily walk all the way around, even close to the shore if you take the signposted turnoff. No exaggeration: The view is magnificent and even reminds me a bit of Bavaria. You wouldn't expect such a beautiful array of landscape elements here. - Beautiful wooded surroundings plus a beautiful lake, what more could you want?

The buildings have been vacant for over 20 years. The site, where Goebbels also had his country estate, is located near Wandlitz, but belongs to the state of Berlin. The Barnim district and the municipality want to further promote its future use. But Berlin is running out of time: Renovating and securing the land is expensive, so the city of Berlin is considering demolishing the buildings and renaturalizing the area.

Beautiful circular walk around the Hellsee (approx. 8km) Unfortunately quite busy in summer. But in the cold season you can have peace and quiet there.
