Beautiful, natural circular hiking trail around the Großer and Kleiner Klobichsee lakes. Signposted as "Großer Rundwanderweg um den Klobichsee" (yellow dot on a white background). Quaint & beautiful... The campsite is a good starting/ending point, where there is also a small, simple snack bar and restrooms. The beautiful beach is also highly recommended. Despite the summer holidays, we were alone on the circular hike... Wonderfully quiet and enchantingly beautiful.

We were still talking about dunes in Brandenburg... and suddenly we were standing in front of one. Look at that.

The Klobichsee was formed by the melting of a block of dead ice in the post-glacial period. With its size of 74 hectares, it is the second largest lake in the Märkische Schweiz Nature Park. You can walk around the lake on beautiful, natural paths. However, you are not allowed to swim here because the shore areas are strictly protected.

The Great Klobichsee is around 75 hectares in size, making it the second largest lake in Märkische Schweiz after the 137-hectare Schermützelsee. Here you can swim, fish or even go on a hike around the lake.

The Münchehofer drifting sand dune is a natural monument that was created by the blowing up of sand after the last ice age. After the ice age, a subarctic climate prevailed and fine sand from the surrounding hills and elevations was blown out and deposited where the current dune is. Thanks to the dune, the soil here is extremely dry, on which only specially adapted plants can grow. This in turn attracts insects that can live under the extreme conditions. Therefore, since 1990, the drifting sand dune has been part of the Klobichsee nature reserve in order to preserve this special biotope.
