The construction site shows a newly built bridge over the A26. Large amounts of sand have been piled up on both sides of the bridge as ramps. This infrastructure measure serves to connect roads and motorways. A great cycling and hiking route runs along here amidst beautiful nature through the Buxtehude moors to Rüptke.

The Elbe island Finkenwerder is a Hamburg district with village charm and significant high-tech industry. Historically, it is an Elbe island, but after dike construction, the area is now a peninsula. The Elbe island offers a fascinating mix of maritime history, fruit cultivation, and modern aviation. Among the most important highlights are: The Airbus factory. On the Open Day, you can look behind the scenes. Observe aircraft production and watch takeoffs/landings from the viewing platform/Neßdeich. Cycle or hike along the picturesque apple orchards, especially charming during the blooming season in spring. Discover Gorch Fock Park, the cutter harbor, and the historic shipyards. Try the traditional dish, such as the famous Finkenwerder Scholle with bacon and crab, in one of the local fish restaurants. The journey with the HADAG ferry line 62 from the Landungsbrücken is particularly beautiful and authentic.

The Evangelical Lutheran St. Pankratius parish extends to the surrounding village-like Hamburg districts of Neuenfelde and Francop. Part of Rübke in Lower Saxony also belongs to it. The baroque parish church is open daily and is over 300 years old. It is very well visited by tourists, especially during the fruit blossom and in the summer months. Because of the great organ and the burial place of the world-famous organ builder Arp Schnitger, who lived in Neuenfelde.
