The memorial to the victims of fascism in Neustrelitz at Marienstraße / Friedrich-Wilhelm-Straße near the train station was erected in 1949 and is a listed building. The memorial was erected in 1949 as a square, 20-meter-high obelisk made of hard-fired dark bricks, with a metal spike and standing on a stepped square base. It was inaugurated on September 11, 1949. In a pointed-arch niche is a plaque bearing the inscription: "TO THE VICTIMS OF FASCISM." The plaque had to be replaced in 1997 after being destroyed. Explore our gallery in the beautiful surroundings of Zierker See. As part of the cultural life in Neustrelitz, we are a meeting point for locals and tourists who, for example, can dock their boats directly outside our door. You can find us in one of the lovingly restored old granaries right on the harbor under the tower. Amidst cafes, restaurants, a coffee roastery, and a hotel, art enthusiasts have the opportunity to "experience" art.
