The Church of the Resurrection was designed by the Hanover architects Horst Langer and Andreas Friess and was dedicated at Easter 1964. It is one of the most striking and expressive church buildings erected in Hanover after the Second World War. Its architecture is permeated by the central theme of the resurrection. The church's east-facing floor plan is an irregular hexagon, broken up on the side opposite the altar by a rectangle inserted at the side. This distinctive shape, together with the cubic volume and lighting, consistently directs the focus of the space toward the altar area. Neither the side nor the altar walls are interrupted by any visible structural elements. A surrounding concrete lattice light band with colored leaded glass runs through the upper side walls. It descends in the area of the altar and rises steeply along its rear wall. The rear end of the space is formed by three galleries – for the congregation, organ, and choir – that visually structure the volume. The Vesper Chapel is located below the parish gallery, uniting two sacred spaces under one roof.

The clock tower from 1909 is a listed building and was formerly used by the factory fire brigade as a hose tower. The tower belonged to the Döhren wool washing and combing works - also known as Döhrener Wolle. It was the first German factory for the mechanical cleaning of wool. Wool was washed here from 1868 to 1973. The former factory buildings are now apartments.
