The Church of the Holy Guardian Angels, Domhof 18, 48268 Greven-Schmedehausen, was built between 1859 and 1860. The building is a hall structure with cross-ribbed vaulting and a gable roof. The 28-meter-high facade tower in the west was built in 1910. It stands on a square floor plan. Red brickwork characterizes the exterior. The striking guardian angel sculpture, made of local oak, was created as an altarpiece in 1951 by the sculptor Ernst Stawinoga. As part of the liturgical reform, the altar was rebuilt in 1969. The sculpture was moved to its current location outside on the south side of the church. The church is located on a German pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. The pilgrims' hut next to the church invites you to linger.

Here it is worth changing sides of the canal and sailing on the side opposite the official route, which is much easier to navigate with coarse and fine gravel than the very rough official route, which also requires a wide detour around the Fuestrup Marina.

There are some decorations and a nice playground outside.

A simple little Protestant church which is one of the stamp stations, probably the only one in Schmedehausen, on the Westphalian Way of St. James.

Even though it is not a flowing body of water, it has its own special charms. For hikers, the course is perhaps a little too straight.
