Located in the immediate vicinity of the Nochten Lusatian Boulder Park, between the northern town of Boxberg and the communities of Uhyst and Klitten to the south, Lake Bärwalder lies against the impressive backdrop of the Boxberg power plant. With a total area of approximately 13 km², a circumference of 20.6 km², and a water volume of approximately 174 million m³, Lake Bärwalder, up to 50 m deep, is the largest lake in the Free State of Saxony and the third largest lake in the Lusatian Lake District. A 7.30 m high lighthouse with a sector beacon and a yellow flashing light for wind warnings – incidentally the first lighthouse in the Lusatian Lake District – was built in 2011. The boat dock accommodates 92 boats of various sizes. The Mediterranean bistro at the lighthouse provides refreshments, and a rescue station ensures the safety of visitors. Ample parking and a bicycle rental service are also available for those seeking relaxation. Source: https://www.foerderverein-leuchtturm-roter-sand.de/seite/340954/b%C3%A4rwalder-se
