In 1637 the church was given its current cruciform shape and in 1693 the tower was originally built on the south side, now on the north side. However, it took 130 years to complete. There are 4 bells in the tower, the oldest bell - a twelve bell - dates from 1694. At that time, St. Anna am Aigen and Halbenrain still belonged to the parish of Klöch and were looked after by 1 priest and 3 chaplains. The parish church is dedicated to Saint George.
