August 31, 2025, Former Żnin County Railway Station in Ostrówce

The station building of the defunct ŻKP Żnin-Ostrówce line. The line ran through Rydlewo and Balczewo and had a total length of 11.2 km. The first section, from Żnin to Rydlewo, opened on July 1, 1894, and was 2.2 km long. The next section, from Rydlewo to Ostrówce, was 9 km long and opened on June 7, 1908. The station served both passenger and freight purposes, but passenger traffic was never restored after World War II. The line was closed to traffic on July 1, 1988, and was closed in 1991. Go down to the shores of Lake Oćwieckie (which is also where the Gąsawka River flows in) when you are in Gąsawka (a village). Beautiful, peaceful and charming. On the edge, some trees seem to bow to the water, leaning over the surface.

Once upon a time, it was supposedly a very nice place that was full of life, but unfortunately it was abandoned by its owners.
