Starting from Lagow, you don't yet realize the lake's vast expanse. It meanders, so you constantly wonder where the view ends, where the return journey begins. It's wonderful that this isn't the case, because the path is beautiful. It mostly runs along the elevated shoreline and requires no special skills.

Below the castle is a kind of amphitheater, where a stage is set up opposite the seating area for seasonal events. Today (the second Sunday of Advent 2025) there were Christmas carols and all sorts of food stalls around it.

The town is ideally situated on two long, narrow lakes. The castle dates back to the 15th century and, after being abandoned by the Knights Hospitaller, was likely run as a manor until the end of World War II. Today it houses a hotel.

A nice entrance to the castle grounds. Below the gate, there's one-way traffic with traffic lights.

Beautiful pond, and next to it the Orchid Meadow (on the northern shore of the pond). Beautiful, with rare plants, protected as an ecological site.

Probably the most charming and picturesque place on the lake's perimeter. A small headland, in the shade of trees, with a nice bench, with a fantastic view of the lake. Quiet, peaceful, and the sunsets here (and sunrises too) are like from Hollywood movies.
