The mill was expanded by the Cistercians and developed into a large workshop, which served as a machine hall and, in addition to milling grain, also facilitated other production processes such as hammering, stamping, and oil-making. The buildings were constructed of granite ashlars, which are still clearly visible today. The mill building was probably originally four stories high and designed as a four-wheel mill with four openings for waterwheel shafts.

The monastery is magical and a tour is definitely worth it. You should also stop in at the organic cafe. The prices are really organic, but the Brodowiner Demeter products taste really excellent 👍
