Laasan, beyond Jena, is said to be the forgotten village. But that's not true. Napoleon's troops plundered Laasan just as much. The village that actually remained undiscovered was Meusebach. Its residents had additionally covered the unmarked path with felled trees to make it look as if there was nothing behind it. However, a Frenchman saw through this ruse and ran up the road to Meusebach. The residents had no choice but to kill the French soldier. He was buried here on this spot. A plaque next to it tells the story.
