Finding the source of the Leine River is quite curious 😂, as it is located behind a high hedge in a garden with an adjoining garden.

The Leine Cycle Path begins here, but that's all it is. The stream has several sources, one of which is hidden and inaccessible here. The attractive features of this spot might be a bench and the information board, but the stream, enclosed in a canal, and the backyards certainly aren't.

Here begins a beautiful trip along the Leine

I have often taken the cycle path from the source of the Leine to Göttingen and from Göttingen to Hanover. In Eichsfeld the cycle path is in excellent condition, but this deteriorates further along. The Werra, Fulda and Weser cycle paths are ahead of the Leine cycle path, but the Leine cycle path is also very beautiful and worth a change.
