Chapel in Bierde The legend A legend tells something about the founding of the chapel in pre-Reformation times: A squire of the village nobility slapped his local priest in the face during an argument. As a fitting apology, the clergy demanded that he build a church. It was dedicated to the saint of the monastery church in Corvey, St. Vitus. The chapel was renovated outside in 2001 and inside in 2003. A church garden was also created with EU funds. The people of Bierde are happy to have their own place of worship in the middle of their village and are increasingly bringing it to life with the services and concerts offered. In any case, church and village form a unity in their interaction. Opening hours from April 30th to September 30th daily 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. https://www.kirchengemeinde-ahlden.de/unsere-kirchen/kapelle-bierde
