Here the Delme emerges The river originates underground but soon reaches the surface. The source is marked with a boulder bearing the inscription "Delmequelle – 44 km to the mouth." After crossing the Twistringen town center underground, the Delme flows via Harpstedt to Delmenhorst. There, the river feeds the moat of the former Delmenhorst moated castle. On the outskirts of Bremen, the Delme flows into the Ochtum, a left tributary of the Weser. Along its course, the Delme experiences an elevation difference of approximately 50 meters.

The variety of culinary offerings is particularly interesting for cyclists/holidaymakers. Whether a refreshing drink or a complete meal, everyone gets their money's worth here. In addition to Italian, Asian and Greek, there is also the opportunity to try German cuisine. A bakery, café and ice cream parlor round off the offering. If you prefer something quick, or prefer a kebab, you are spoiled for choice with several providers. As well as the choice between indoor and outdoor. If you enjoyed the break so much that you can't think about continuing on... here you go... there is a four-star hotel with reasonable prices right next door. A must for every cyclist passing through... 😉

Little info from the internet: The Catholic Saint Anna Church in Twistringen The parish church is a three-aisled hall church with a suggested transept as a brick building and was consecrated in 1870. The two side aisles are structured with buttresses. The gable roofs are independent of the gable. The choir is closed on three sides. The mighty, retracted, 56 meter high, octagonal west tower with a pointed spire stands above the first central nave yoke. It is the symbol of the city. The three western entrances form a kind of portal system. The north transept was expanded with a newer extension. Inside, columns support the four yokes. The high altar (Seling) and the choir windows date from around 1900. The bronze baptismal fountain in the shape of a bell with the inscription 13th century was created around 1250. The picture of the Mount of Olives dates from the late Baroque around 1700. Other pieces of equipment include the new tabernacle and the apostle candlesticks ( Iserlohe, 1995).
