The observation tower on the Hohe Mechtien is the highest observation tower in the Wendland and at 142 meters, the Hohe Mechtien is also the highest elevation in the Wendland (to call it a mountain would be an exaggeration).

A pretty hut for a break during a bike tour and next to it there is a great insect hotel. Next to the hut there are a few bicycle parking spaces, unfortunately it is a bit difficult to get there by bike, especially if you have a heavy bike with a lot of luggage, because then you sink into the gravel pretty quickly and it becomes very difficult to push the bike . The area is quiet and pleasant for cycling and walking.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gülden belongs to the parish of Zernien. The small, rectangular half-timbered building dates from 1786/87. A roof turret is located above the massively expanded western section. The simple rural furnishings with pulpit altar date from the time it was built. Source: Wikipedia
