The Schwanheide chapel was inaugurated on June 19, 1955. The chapel was initially known as the "Christian teaching barracks." The first evidence of planning can be found in 1953, and the construction itself took place essentially in 1955. The chapel was inaugurated in the same year. Schwanheide belonged to the Protestant parish of Zweedorf until 1961. After the inner-German border was established on August 13, 1961, it was separated from Zweedorf. Shortly afterwards, the small wooden chapel was built based on the Swedish model. In 1991, the free-standing bell tower was added. The chapel is listed in a church visitation protocol from 1534 as having existed for a long time and was looked after by Boizenburg. During the Thirty Years' War, Danish soldiers burned down the chapel in 1627, and it was rebuilt in 1650. In 1782, the Horst landowner David Faler was buried to the left of the altar. On October 2, 1483, the then Bishop of Ratzeburg consecrated a chapel as a branch of St. George's Church in Zweedorf in honor of St. Laurentius at the site of today's church. The document issued about it was discovered by workers in 1863 during renovation work under the stone altar of the chapel in the ground. It was in a glass cylinder and was walled in again under the new altar with a new document in the same year. As part of this work, the chapel was rebuilt into a neo-Gothic brick church with a dodecagon choir ending. The originally free-standing wooden bell tower was replaced by a brick tower in 1904. One of the bells included bore the date 1591, the other still contained an Old Slavic inscription. In 1944 both bells were taken away to be melted down and were lost in the Hamburg Bell Cemetery. A new bell was purchased in the mid-1950s. In 1999 the roof of the tower and the nave as well as two outer pillars and the cemetery wall surrounding the churchyard were renewed with patronage funds and a grant from the Nostorf municipality. Die Dorfkirche Nostorf ist eine Kirche der Kirchengemeinde Zweedorf im Kirchenkreis Mecklenburg der Evangelisch-lutherischen Kirche in Norddeutschland. Sie steht in Nostorf im Landkreis Ludwigslust-Parchim in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Am 2. Oktober 1483 weihte der Ratzeburger Bischof Johannes von Parkentin am Standort der heutigen Kirche eine Kapelle als Filia der St.-Georgs-Kirche zu Zweedorf zu Ehren des heiligen Laurentius. Die darüber ausgestellte Urkunde entdeckten Arbeiter 1863 bei Umbauarbeiten unter dem steinernen Altar der Kapelle im Erdreich. Sie befand sich in einem gläsernen Zylinder und wurde mit einer neuen Urkunde im gleichen Jahr unter dem neuen Altar wieder eingemauert. Die Kapelle wurde im Rahmen dieser Arbeiten zu einer neugotischen Backsteinkirche mit einem Chorschluss aus dem Zwölfeck umgebaut. In der Nordmauer befindet sich ein Mauerrest aus der ursprünglichen Kapelle, der an der Abwechslung aus wendischem und polnischen Verband zu erkennen ist. Der ursprünglich freistehende hölzerne Glockenturm wurde 1904 durch einen Backsteinturm ersetzt. Eine der darin aufgenommenen Glocken trug das Datum 1591, die andere enthielt noch eine Altslawische Inschrift. 1944 wurden beide Glocken zum Einschmelzen abtransportiert und gingen auf dem Hamburger Glockenfriedhof verloren. Bereits Mitte der 1950er Jahre wurde eine neue Glocke angeschafft. 1999 wurden das Dach des Turmes und des Kirchenschiffes sowie zwei Außenpfeiler und die den Kirchhof umgebende Friedhofsmauer mit Patronatsmitteln sowie einem Zuschuss der Gemeinde Nostorf erneuert. Bis 2006 erfolgte eine umfangreiche Sanierung des Gebäudeinneren, der Orgel und der Einbau eines elektronischen Läutewerkes. Im Inneren finden sich unter einer flachen Bretter- und Balkendecke mit Ornamenten in rot, blau und beige ein Triptychonaltar auf steinernem Altartisch mit holzgeschnitzter Altarschranke und eine reich verzierte Kanzel mit Schalldeckel. Die 1890 eingebaute Frieseorgel mit vier Registern und angehängtem Pedal wurde noch bis 2005 mittels Blasebalg betrieben. Im Rahmen der Generalüberholung durch den Orgelbaumeister Arnold aus Plau am See erfolgte die Umrüstung auf einen elektronischen Winderzeuger.
