It lies below Kittendorf Castle in the castle park and is part of the castle complex. The mill dates from around 1750 and was closely associated with the Kittendorf estate, which was owned by the von Oertzen family from 1751 to 1945. It remained in operation until after 1945, when the von Oertzen family left the property due to expropriation by the Soviet occupation forces. Today, the mill stands empty and unused, although the positions of the waterwheels are still visible and the historic facade could be restored.
