Right on the shore you can still see the remains of the foundations of the so-called “gondola square”. They come from the former boathouse built in 1824, which is said to have housed three boats resembling Italian gondolas. On special occasions, these were lavishly decorated and lowered into the water and illuminated with lanterns. In 1945 the boathouse was also destroyed and later demolished. Today there is a covered rest area.
