The church in Gröditz is visible from afar, as it stands on a rock above the Löbauer Wasser. The cemetery is located directly next to the church. In addition to the restored organ, the church itself contains several other objects of art history, such as a Romanesque portal and a panel presumably from an earlier altar.

Both the original building and the machinery with elevators, belt conveyors, crushers, screening machines from Krupp and suction fans from MIAG as well as the tool forge have been preserved from the original period. They are in good technical condition and could still process basalt from the nearby quarry today. Later structural and technological changes complement the old technology without blurring the experience of the original plant. In December 1993, rock was quarried here for the last time. The plant has been idle since then. It was preserved by the SBU Sächsische Baustoffunion for future generations as an interesting display facility and technical monument. HWO Hartsteinwerke Ostsachsen has taken over the legacy and, in cooperation with the Technical Monument Basaltwerk Baruth e.V. association, is preserving this historical treasure.
