Just a few meters from the road, at the northeast end, you can even ride your racing bike to the "beach" to cool off.

"The focal point and center of Berbisdorf is the castle, whose old moated castle layout is still clearly visible and dates back to the Sorbian settlement period. The building is surrounded on four sides by a moat fed by a stream, thus situated on a kind of island. It was acquired and expanded at the beginning of the 16th century by the noble beekeepers known as Hofmann from Berbisdorf, Boden, and Dittmannsdorf, along with the associated manorial estate; it was rebuilt several times by subsequent owners, most recently towards the end of the 19th century. The old moated castle is considered to be one of the eponymous ancestral seats of the noble Berbisdorf family. The expropriation and division of the manor's land as part of the land reform after 1945 in the GDR resulted in many years of decay for the castle. We are aware that restoring this gem to its former glory is not an easy task. With the establishment of our small Castle Café, which is open every Friday from May to September We're already seeing the first results after opening our new castle café on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. We hope we've piqued your curiosity and look forward to welcoming you to our castle café. http://schloss-berbisdorf.de/
