The Rittergut Oetzsch near Mügeln was first mentioned as a manor in 1310 and is among the oldest knight's estates in Saxony. For centuries, it belonged to various noble families, including the von Saalhausen, von Metzsch, and later the Ihle family. After expropriation in 1945, part of the complex fell into disrepair, but after 1990 the manor house was renovated and is now used for residential and holiday purposes.
