This route is highly recommended if you want to do a varied route that can be done in a reasonable amount of time. We recommend not walking after heavy rain, as the paths along the fields or across the meadows are very muddy. We were very lucky that we had good weather. There is a restaurant at Schönfels Castle. It is worth checking the opening times in advance and perhaps making a reservation if you are planning to eat there. We particularly liked the variety... lots of nature and now and then places that we passed through. Great views and mostly away from roads and traffic. The journey here from Leipzig was worth it.
