The history of Reichertshausen dates back to the Middle Ages. A noble seat with its own Hofmark (manorial estate) and extensive agricultural holdings already existed here early on. Over the centuries, the lordship changed hands several times between different Bavarian noble families. Reichertshausen thus developed into a regional administrative and economic center along the Ilm. The original castle or Hofmark complex was gradually expanded in the early modern period and developed into a representative palace. Extensive renovations, particularly in the 17th and 18th centuries, gave the complex its present-day appearance. At the same time, farm buildings, stables, and gardens were expanded. For many generations, Reichertshausen Castle remained closely linked to the agricultural use of the surrounding areas. The Hofmark shaped the life of the place for centuries. With the political changes of the 19th century, the Hofmark lost its former administrative function. However, the castle remained inhabited and was continuously maintained. Various restorations and modernizations also took place in the 20th century, largely preserving the historical character of the complex. Today, Reichertshausen Castle is one of the prominent historical noble seats in the district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. The grounds are private and unfortunately not publicly accessible! https://www.schloesser-burgen-ruinen.de/bayern/landkreis-pfaffenhofen-an-der-ilm/schloss-reichertshausen/

Beautiful local church built around 1200 with a crypt and a great history. Founding date of Ilmmünster 746, making it one of the oldest, if not the oldest, settlement in the Ilmtal. Initially a Benedictine monastery, later an Augustinian canonry until its dissolution in 1492.

There is no reliable information about the life of Saint Arsacius or Arsatius. According to legend, he was Bishop of Milan and possibly a martyr or confessor. His lifetime is dated around 400 or to the 6th century. His relics were transferred from Rome to the Ilmmünster Monastery in 766, where his veneration grew and the Church of St. Arsatius is dedicated to him to this day. In 1495, they were transferred to Munich, but in 1846, they were returned to Ilmmünster. His feast day is November 12th.

There's a very good Italian restaurant here with seating on the terrace, and a playground right next door. Everything is very nicely laid out!

Always worth a visit. There is a lot to discover here. There is plenty of play equipment for the little ones. Herbs and flower beds for the botanists. For the curious, there is an information board about the island and how it was created. If you just want to put your feet up for a while, you will find a nice spot on the numerous benches or great seating areas right by the Ilm.

On the Nepomuk Bridge, which was inaugurated in 2008, stands the namesake and patron saint of all bridges, Saint Nepomuk. Directly north of him is a small seating area.
