Always a great route with beautiful views, sometimes with surprising insights into the animal world. The unpleasant alternative route between Untertheres and Obertheres has now been removed, so you can now drive along the Main again. There are even geese nesting near the "Mainbrücke Theres" at the moment.

The Roman Catholic, listed branch church of St. Jodokus is located in Ottendorf, a part of the municipality of Gädheim in the district of Haßberge (Lower Franconia, Bavaria). The choir tower in the east of the hall church was built in 1672 over a late medieval core. It received its eight-sided, slate-covered, bent roof later. The nave, covered with a gable roof, was extended to the west in 1927 by an extension of three bays covered with a hipped roof based on a design by Johann Adam Rüppel. Wikipedia

In 1750, linden branches were tied together to form a ring that still surrounds the two trees today. Because of the increasing weight of the horizontal branches, two concentric rows of pillars were set up in 1789 to support the ring. The pillars made of grey sandstone were supplied by the stonemason Ankenbrand from Falkenstein, who was paid 40 guilders by the municipality. In 2006, according to the 7th Environmental Protection Report of the Haßberge District Office 2001-2006, the Turkish linden tree was classified as not worthy of being a natural monument and was removed from the list of natural monuments.
