Hello everyone, I grew up in this part of town and, after years of being blind to the landscape (or rather, operational blindness), I finally woke up in old age to realize how beautiful our corner and home (Tecklenburg Land) really is. Velper Straße, leading from my hometown of Laggenbeck toward Velpe, offers a glimpse into the landscape. When the light is right, you should simply take the time and leisure to look left and right once or twice.

Hello everyone, and at the same time, I'd like to recommend this very beautiful and well-maintained rest area. This place is maintained by a community of interest, and to offer refreshments and other refreshments to weary travelers, there's a cupboard with refreshments and homemade food and beverages (liqueur, etc.) available for the hopefully honest cyclist. I think that's a great thing.

Hey guys, the bridge with the stream or drainage ditch flowing underneath isn't a highlight in the true sense of the word, but for me and on a solo tour it's always a place to get off and take a short break.

Preservation and development of undisturbed old reed beds with vegetation-free mudflats and wet bushes along still and flowing waters, wetlands and moors, the development of successional stages in the peripheral areas (e.g., wet bushes on vegetation-free or poor soils), but prevention of bush encroachment and forestation, careful reed mowing where necessary while maintaining a high proportion of old reeds, improvement of the water balance to stabilize a high groundwater level in wetlands, improvement of the food supply in the vicinity of the breeding sites (reduced fertilization, no pesticides), and avoidance of disturbances at the breeding sites from April to July

The old cemetery is almost more like a park. The rear entrance leads directly into Düte Park. In the future, the cemetery will be gradually transformed into a park after the current usage rights expire.

When I (once again) ride my donkey through the Düsterdieker lowlands, I often have to ask myself: Why is this so flat and so beautiful? It's best to see for yourself and enjoy the peace and the vastness.

Since 2023, the church square has had a lovely little park with plenty of benches and a place to play boules. Boules can be rented (for a €20 deposit) at the EisCafé Dolomiti. The church square also has a small playground and a water feature. The surrounding restaurants invite you to linger. The church square and the town church also have a listening station. Beautiful landscape in the Osnabrück region between Velpe and Lotte. Wide meadows, old trees, colorful fields, lovely hills - very picturesque.
