A chapel on the Lisnaberg was first mentioned in 1734. The new building was consecrated in 1804 by the Lavant bishop Maximilian Firmian. The tower was not completed until 1818, destroyed by a fire following a lightning strike in 1971 and rebuilt in 1997.
