This simple circular hike takes you from Dreistetten through a beech mixed forest, via ascending serpentines, to Hohe Wand and the Herrgottschnitzerhaus. The rustic hut is located at 826m above sea level on the eastern edge of Hohe Wand and offers a wonderful viewpoint and resting place.

Very little traffic. Beautiful path through the forest.

The Herrgottschnitzerhaus on the Hohe Wand is a rustic mountain hut that is almost 100 years old and has retained its original charm, apart from a few minor additions. The friendly hosts, the excellent food and the great view were particularly appreciated. Unfortunately, the hut is currently closed and there are no signs of it reopening any time soon.

Just keep in mind that the road is Southbound- so be mindful when to challenge it

Very nice pub with very good food at a good price. The view from the garden is great.

Smooth tarmac, steep gradient, beautiful views but hard to fit in a frame without a wide-angle lens.

BEWARE OF RACIST BEHAVIOR!! My wife and I were out on Hohe Wand to enjoy the surroundings. We accidentally entered a private property (without a fence) next to a restaurant to admire the view. Within a few minutes the owner appeared and threatened us in an unfriendly manner. We immediately apologized and left the property. When we wanted to enter the restaurant afterwards, we were rudely turned away by the owner in front of all the guests. His behavior was extremely unfriendly and inappropriate. Therefore, I strongly recommend not to spend your money in this racist restaurant
