Here is the ascent to the Gimpel. We tried it in mid-May, but unfortunately had to break off due to impassability. Too much snow made the path very dangerous and also covered the path. The innkeepers recommended that the Gimpel is accessible from the north side in mid to late June.

This lovely tour is also suitable for children, but they should have some alpine experience and be able to manage at least 10 km. We completed 16 km with approximately 1,130 meters of elevation gain in two days, from the Bärenfalle Roßschläg hiking car park via the Willi Merkl Hut (one overnight stay) to the summit cross and back to the hiking car park.
