A great spot right by the monastery church. The trout in the crystal-clear water, along with the old well technology and the baroque building, invite you to take a break. It looked a bit unkempt and overgrown, but that wasn't a problem for me.

The Maxtor is the courtyard gate of the former Schongau castle. It looks very romantic and you can pass through the gate on foot or by car. Standing at the foot of the gate, you quickly become aware of the imposing town wall. If you follow the road through the gate, you will reach the town center of Schongau, which is also worth a visit. What personally bothers me a little is the fact that you can drive through the gate in both directions, which leads to a very high noise level. Anyone in Schongau should definitely pay a short visit here.

The Police Servant Tower, also called the Witches' Tower, is a resting unique, as the name suggests. Here is a passage to the panoramic view for "young-at-heart pensioners": Who recognizes the Zugspitze? Recommendation: Through the gate to the right is the so-called Sun Ditch on the city wall. It is worth looking at the Alpine chain (panorama sign with the names of the mountains), but also a walk along the wall, the old city moat. A brochure worth reading about this can be found in the City Museum (Christophstr.).

Wonderful city wall, pretty, well-kept old town with several places to linger, such as ice cream parlors, fountains, etc.

From the lower watermill where the pumping station was installed, water was pumped into the tower to supply the city with fresh water.
