In the heart of Mölln's historic center stands the former town hall pharmacy, a building steeped in tradition that shaped the city's medical care for centuries. As a city-privileged pharmacy, it was not only a place for preparing medicines but also a social hub where news was exchanged and civic life unfolded. The facade, with its Baroque and Neoclassical elements, reflects the city's prosperity and self-confidence during that era. The building gains particular significance through a prominent guest: Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, lived and worked in Mölln for several months in 1812. During his stay, he used the town hall pharmacy as an important reference point for his medical studies and observations. His influence lends the building an additional cultural and historical dimension. www.moelln-tourismus.de/poi/alte-apotheke

St. Nicholas Church in Mölln is far more than a sacred building – it is the historic heart of the town and a silent witness to over 800 years of Christian culture. Situated high atop the Eichberg, it towers over the old town and, with its striking tower, shapes the cityscape like no other building. Built in the early 13th century, the church combines elements of brick Romanesque and Gothic architecture. Particularly impressive are the ornate wall paintings, the triumphal cross from the workshop of the Lübeck woodcarver Bernt Notke, and the delicate bronze baptismal font from 1509 – a work that not only bears religious significance but also reflects Mölln's close connection to the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. The church is dedicated to St. Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors and merchants – a reference to Mölln's historical role as a trading town on the Salt Road. Anyone entering the church immediately senses the special atmosphere: quiet, dignified, and yet vibrant with services, concerts, and congregational life. St. Nicolai is not a museum, but a place of encounter – between past and present, between people and history. A visit is worthwhile not only for believers, but for anyone who wants to be touched by architecture, art, and spirituality. https://www.moelln-tourismus.de/

stands on the Eichberg, directly above the Till Eulenspiegel bronze sculpture. The oldest parts of the church date from around 1391 to 1470 and are Brick Gothic. The church was originally built as a late Romanesque, three-aisled pillar basilica. In 1896, parts of the medieval murals in the nave were uncovered. The oldest work of art is the base of a piscina from around the 12th century. The seven-branched bronze chandelier dates from 1436, the triumphal cross from 1504, the Coronation of Mary chandelier from 1506, and the Baroque high altar from 1739. The oldest preserved organ pipes date from around 1500. Overall, a very beautiful old church that is definitely worth a visit.
