The Lost Hammer is a great, hidden Lost Place in the Morsbach valley. A sign from the TBR describes the background: These old forging furnaces here in the Diepmannsbachtal recall the origins of the Bergisches small iron industry. They once belonged to the "Bärenhammer". In 1560, the Hammer was first mentioned in documents. In 1715, Wilhelm Diederichs was the sole owner. The Honsberg brothers rebuilt the Hammer in 1746. From around the middle of the 19th century, the refining steel hammer's works were already driven by 9 hp. The Bärenhammer did not survive World War I; by 1926 it had already fallen into disrepair. But only nine years later, it was acquired by the company Gedore, restored, and re-established as a technical monument. In 1943, during World War II, the Bärenhammer was destroyed by bombs. All reconstruction attempts during the war were thwarted by looters.

Always a fantastic view of the iron giants. The trains travel on the bridge over 100 meters above the Wupper Valley.
