Pretty place, where much old has been preserved. I also find the pulpit in the middle of the main altar in the church fascinating.

The whole place is the highlight and not just the door or wall remnants Here you find the church, the old diaconate, the former harbor, a Waldorf school, a country hotel and the grape

The Nordermühle can already be seen in a depiction by the cartographer Daniel Friese from 1550/60. Once owned by the Meldorf Dominican monastery, after 1559 it apparently belonged to the governor Heinrich Rantzau; later it was administered as royal property by the Rent Chamber in Copenhagen. In 1791 the old post mill was demolished and replaced by a new one. In 1832 the mill was the last tenant. The government sold it in 1834. A gallery mill followed in 1840. However, this burned down in 1862 due to a lightning strike. A cellar mill was then built as a new building. In 1879, miller Hinrichs bought the mill. Hermann Hinrichs took over in 1930 as the third generation. After 1950 the “Fortuna” was converted to run on motors only. In 1973, a mill enthusiast bought the property from the miller's widow. The mill has been a listed building since then. It still has all of its original, fully functional mill equipment. In order to preserve this impressive technology, it was not converted into a residential mill, but is only habitable in the summer months without any comfort. https://www.echt-dithmarschen.de/typisch/poi/nordermuhle-meldorf

The shoemaker's boy in Heide is a bronze sculpture created in 1984 by the artist Siegfried J. Assmann. This sculpture honors the shoemaking trade, as the shoemaker's town used to be a craftsmen's street where mainly shoemakers worked. With almost 47,000 square meters of undeveloped area, the market square in Heide is the largest in Germany and a place with history. During the time of the independent farmer republic of Dithmarschen, the square was the meeting place of the state assembly from 1447 onwards. As early as the 16th century, traders met there every Saturday for a weekly market. This has remained the case to this day. In addition, a large Christmas market takes place on the square every year, as well as the "Heider Marktfrieden" every two years - the largest medieval folk festival in Dithmarschen. https://www.ndr.de/ratgeber/reise/binnenland_elbe/Heide-Stadt-in-Nordseenaehe-mit-Marktplatz-der-Superlative-,heide132.html

In 1435, a chapel dedicated to Saint George (Low German: St. Jürgen) was built in Heide. When Heide was conquered by royal Danish and ducal troops during the Last Feud in 1559, the church burned down completely. Shortly afterwards, a new church was built on the old foundations, which was consecrated in 1560. This church has essentially survived to this day, although it has undergone some changes.
