On the valley side of the market square, on Strada Republicii, there is a row of houses that are a little more modest in design, but have the same aesthetic standards as the row of houses on the Upper Market. This was the home of the village's blacksmiths, among others. Many beautiful wrought iron decorations still bear witness to this.

On July 5, 2019, a fire broke out in this new church, which could only be extinguished after about 13 hours. The fire was probably caused by a short circuit in an electrical conductor in the attic. The fire destroyed the wooden structure of the roof, about half of it collapsed. Fortunately, the interior was hardly affected.

The new church with the temple of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is dedicated to the "Solemnity of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos" of the Orthodox Church, which roughly corresponds to the Roman Catholic feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It was built during the term of office of the Bishop of Alba-Iulia, Emilian Birdaș, and opened in 1992. The church, which is worth seeing, is also called the "Cathedral of the Apuseni Mountains". Its open pridvor is reminiscent of a veranda. Its entrance side is decorated with a depiction of the Last Judgement.

The Church of St. Nicholas, consecrated on the Byzantine feast of Izvorul Tămăduirii on the first Friday after Easter, is one of the few Romanian stone churches that can be dated to the 13th century. What is known is that the third layer of frescoes on the interior walls was painted in 1377 by Mihu from Crișul Alb. The walls are covered with layers of precious wall paintings from the 14th to the 18th centuries. Above the north entrance there is a stone inscription from 1487, from the time of the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus, who placed the church under his protection. The church was built over a spring. Even today you can go down a few steps on the west side and drink the water.
