Ten Vorsel is an estate of 230 ha south of Bladel, in the Dutch province of North Brabant. The estate is located on both sides of the Aa or Goorloop. It was founded around 1100 and was owned by the Abbey of Postel, which was founded as a priory in 1138 by the Abbey of Floreffe and which already owned a farm on Ten Vorsel in 1173. Much later, reclamations took place by the Maatschappij van Welstand, which is the current owner of the area. Ten Vorsel consists of fields and meadows, and pieces of deciduous and coniferous forest. There is also a group accommodation called the Vorselse Molen, after a watermill that once stood here. Source and more information: Wikipedia

The Bladel air watchtower (8C1) is located on the Bossingel in Bladel. The tower is built of prefabricated concrete honeycomb construction elements. On top of the tower is the observation platform, which consists of an open space of 3 by 3 meters with a 1.5 meter high parapet. On the west side of the observation platform is a covered shelter. The tower formed a triangle (air watch circle) with the air watch post in Meerveldhoven and the air watchtower in Luyksgestel (both disappeared). The observers reported to the air watch center in Eindhoven. The tower was used until 1964, the year in which the Air Watch Corps in this part of the country was disbanded. The tower was originally placed in a grove for camouflage, so that the tower was less noticeable from the air. In the meantime, the trees have grown higher than the air watchtower. In 1965, houses were built near the tower. Source and more information: meteotoren.nl
