Nice place to stay

As already described, here I agree with the other tipsters: The surrounding nature is wonderful, the narrow paths, the springy forest floor under your feet, but the A31 motorway, the intersecting federal roads and the shooting range do not ensure maximum relaxation.

This magnificent free-standing oak invites you to pause and marvel, or to rest on a large stone at its feet. Since it is not crowded by other trees, its appearance is fantastic - and I have only seen it without leaves. In summer, I imagine it would provide great shade.

The gate there is open, you just have to lift it (and close it, of course). From here you cross the motorway towards Deutener Moore. The path to the gate is particularly recommended in spring and summer.

A very beautiful path, especially recommended in spring and summer when the plants are blooming and the insects are flying. Absolutely great. A little way ahead there is a bench that invites you to linger. The path continues to a gate that is open. Then you cross the motorway and can continue towards Deutener Moore

Yes, as Rhader Wiesen is a nature reserve (Naturschutzgebiet) and part of the larger Naturpark Hohe Mark - Westmünsterland, dogs are generally required to be kept on a leash to protect the diverse wildlife, especially ground-nesting birds like the Great Curlew, and to ensure the safety of all visitors.
The terrain in Rhader Wiesen is characterized by extensive wet meadows, grasslands, and paths alongside streams like the Rhader Bach. You can expect mostly flat to gently rolling paths, often unpaved, which are generally easy to navigate for both you and your dog. Some areas may be damp, especially after rain, due to the wetland nature of the reserve.
