Here in this area are five very special objects that can easily be missed when cycling quickly along the main sculpture trail. Ironically, the two most impressive ones, both featuring heads, are located further back in the grounds. The object at the edge of the meadow (facing the granary) depicts a fetus, this form carved from granite and placed high atop a column. Diagonally opposite, and partially obscured by bushes, almost in a natural niche, stands an enormously expressive human figure in a stooped posture. It is the work of sculptor Andreas Hedrich.

The sculpture park is based on Otto Freundlich's vision of a "Paris-Moscow Sculpture Route" for peace and humanity. Freundlich – a German pioneer of abstract art – was murdered in the Sobibor concentration camp in 1943. Since 2001, 120 sculptures have been created over a 21-kilometer stretch in the former sewage fields and in the Hobrechtswald forest in Berlin-Buch. The international sculpture line currently comprises 193 works in five countries (Germany, France, Austria, Poland, and the Czech Republic). Here you can still find old pedunculate oaks, relics of the use of forest pastures, and old hornbeam stands. Rare wood-dwelling beetle species find a great habitat in the decaying old trees. And the Bogensee is an important amphibian spawning area.
