In 1897, countless "Kaiseeichen" trees were planted throughout the German Empire to mark the 100th birthday of Kaiser Wilhelm I (* March 22, 1797). One such pedunculate oak, or German oak, stands in the square between the former estate park and the municipal district of Altranft near Bad Freienwalde. Since 1990, the tree has been allowed to be called "Kaiseeichen" again. In the GDR, such imperial honors were rather frowned upon.

Beautiful lake near Sonnenburg. There are several options for accessing the water. In my opinion, one is more interesting than the Baasee.

Indeed, it's very picturesque, but also very sandy. Doable on gravel, but also strenuous.

Brick church dating from 1752. The former church cemetery was relocated about 150 meters further south in 1856. A small circular path now adorns the forecourt of the old church.
