The Church of the Holy Trinity in Małkowice is a quiet, often uncrowded place of worship with a special village atmosphere. It appears simple but very atmospheric and gives a good impression of traditional sacral architecture in the region. Particularly interesting is its historical integration into the local community, which gives the church an authentic, grown character. Those interested in churches in rural Poland or in quiet places away from large tourist flows will find a worthwhile short stop here.

The town hall is located directly on the market square next to the former church, which is difficult to recognize as such today. At first glance, the tower seems out of place and more reminiscent of a church. This is probably because the tower of the original town hall survived a fire and was reused for the new building towards the end of the 19th century. On the west side stands a column bearing the town's coat of arms, topped by a bird that is difficult to identify. Dove? Eagle? Most likely a seagull. But why?

The church is built in Gothic and Romanesque styles, with Baroque interiors. The church's floor plan is unusual. The stepped tower indicates the varying heights of the scaffolding. Tours are only possible by appointment with the priest, although I don't know if they accommodate individual visitors; we were a group of 20. In any case, the priest had a very entertaining story to tell, including in German. He regrets that he so rarely has the opportunity to speak German. The church contains a chapel with the Holy Stairs. The Holy Stairs were modeled on the Lateran in Rome. In Poland, only Kraków still has a Holy Stairs. The stairs were created on the initiative of Countess Józefa von Wurtz und Burg, whose tomb is located beneath the stairs.

The church itself has nothing special to offer and is closed. But it is a striking building in the village and, on sunny days, offers a place to rest on the lawn in the churchyard, shaded by a large tree. There are two shops just a short distance away (south of the church).

This forest here, to which Matematyczna Street from Ratyń leads, is a beautiful and peaceful spruce forest, where comfortable paths, great for easy walks, are intersected many times by small rivers. A nice place.

Here stands an old mill, or rather its interesting ruin. It turns out that as early as 1271 there were records of Arnold's mill from Legnica. This is where the later name of this village comes from, Arnoldsmühle (Arnold's Mill). The mill was destroyed in 1945.
