The Baroque Church of St. Mary Magdalene dominates the village of Mařenice, located in the Lusatian Mountains near the town of Zvikov. The church was built at the end of the 17th century. It was later rebuilt several times. The first renovation came soon after and in 1714-1720 it was carried out by an Italian builder living in Litoměřice, Octavian Broggia, at the expense of the owner of the Zákup estate, Duchess Francis of Tuscany.
