The highest peak in the Dovrefjell range and tallest in Norway outside Jotunheimen, Snøhetta is a majestic sight. It's easy to see why it was once thought to be the highest in the nation, so imposing is its appearance. From here, its multiple tops and impressive southern face are obvious.

Just a short drive from Hjerkinn, Dombås, Folldal and Oppdal, Hageseter is a popular stop and one that should be booked well in advance. It's a good base for adventures in the Dovrefjell range. You can also hike to the Rondane mountains from here, though you may need a few days.

Stayed 1 night during our Olavstocht. Simple but tasty dishes available. I thought the man at the counter (I suspect the owner) was a bit short and not very friendly.
