The Middle Creek Bridge, or Jim Somerville Bridge, is a steel truss bridge that spans 52 metres over Middle Creek. It's only open to pedestrians and cyclists. Construction was finished in 2016, and the bridge was the critical “missing link” that finally allowed people to completely walk or cycle the full 8.4-kilometre loop around Narrabeen Lagoon.

I walked from Spit Bridge to Manly. Beautiful. Then I added the North Head Circuit via Blue Fish Track. Sensational views. And then I took the ferry back from Manly to Circular Quay. It can be done as a beautiful and varied day trip. Returning by ferry to downtown at dusk is awesome.

From this point on the Engraving Track you'll have a view of a number of Aboriginal engravings in the sandstone bedrock. The area is fenced off to protect the engravings, but it's a good place to stop and appreciate the long human history on the land that now makes up Garigal National Park.

Greendale Creek Path follows the creek corridor inland from Curl Curl through a narrow strip of parkland and vegetation. The shared path is mostly sealed and relatively flat, used by walkers, runners, and cyclists moving between the beaches and surrounding suburbs. Compared to the exposed coastal sections nearby, this route feels more sheltered, with tree cover and greener surroundings along parts of the creek.

Chowder Head is a rocky headland overlooking the beautiful, sheltered waters of Chowder Bay, surrounded by bushland and historic military sites dating from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Today it forms part of the scenic harbour foreshore walking routes and is a quiet vantage point over the harbour and nearby headlands. There is a nice bench here, making it a lovely spot for a quiet break.
