The Bala Lake Railway (Rheilffordd Llyn Tegid) is a delightful little narrow gauge railway. It journeys for 9 miles (14 km) alongside Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) providing glorious views across Snowdonia and towards the mighty Aran peaks of Benllyn and Fawddwy. The line follows the Ruabon to Barmouth line of the standard gauge Great Western Railway and many of the original features remain. A treat for railway enthusiasts and outdoor lovers alike!

Good loop. I rode up out of Llanuwchllyn. But this ride would work very well starting in Bala. The section up around Arenig is great. A few gates to open/close, one farm to go through....but this is a good alternative to the sadly hobbled Bala Loop (Vyrnwy).
