Schonach artist Klaus Ringwald designed and built the Münsterbrunnen fountain on Villingen's Münsterplatz in 1989. This bronze work of art tells the city's 1,000-year history through text and images, sometimes humorously. Each of the artwork's eight sides is dedicated to a significant era for the city. The fountain contributes to ensuring that our beautiful city streams receive enough water and that both children and adults can enjoy a little refreshment in the summer. https://www.villingen-schwenningen.de/tourismus-erleben/vs-erleben/sehenswuerdigkeiten/stadtbezirk-villingen/stadtbrunnen/

The Villingen Carnival opens every year at the Narro Fountain. The Narro, the traditional figure of the Villingen Carnival, is placed on its pedestal with great ceremony on Epiphany, garlanded with brushwood, and removed on Ash Wednesday to be re-erected in the spring. In 2017, the 80-year-old wooden figure by Eugen Merz was replaced with a new bronze Narro figure, created by Thomas Straub from St. Georgen. https://www.schwarzwald-donau.de/attraktion/brunnen-b25da42343
