„A rose is beautiful, but not mysterious“, writes Karel CAPEK (1890–1938) in his book „The Gardener's Year“, in which he 'with fine irony and loving observation tells of the eternal cycle of the garden season' (publisher's text). The Czech writer further elaborates: „Among the mysterious plants are… the tree of knowledge, ancient trees in general (…). I will not tell you what the mystery lies in, the mystery must simply be acknowledged, so that we can find it and humbly bow to it.“ The text is a little over 100 years old, but even today, we humans of the 21st century should feel awe and humility towards the mystery of ancient trees.

The Sitzhügel is located on the other bank of the Strem and is therefore not accessible, unless daredevils attempt the makeshift bridge of branches.

A lap around this romantically located pond in the forest is always an experience. And afterwards, of course, to KOI for a coffee :) Perfect.

Avoid this place! The owner is very bumptious and not friendly to cyclists. We rode to the place only to be denied a table because he claimed they were full, while almost all of the tables on the terrace were free, only one was taken by other guests. A restaurant owner who cannot make room for two people arriving on bicycles and hungry, does not deserve the trust from the biking community.
