Tips from the Community

Teufelchen New
January 11, 2026, Volkspark Bischofswerda

A stroll or a short break in Pulsnitz's town park is well worth it. The area between the old post office and Bahnhofstrasse has been beautifully transformed. Even though no flowers bloom in winter and no trees provide shade, it's very attractively designed. The paths are well-maintained, numerous benches invite you to linger, and the gingerbread house is a real eye-catcher. The lovely graffiti on the wall is also interesting and evokes memories of the area's past.

The former Hauffe nursery in Pulsnitz, located at Feldstraße 14, is now a listed building, consisting primarily of a farm building belonging to a former estate, surrounded by a fence. The nursery no longer operates under that name, but the history of the site is closely linked to the Hauffe family, who also owned a significant ribbon weaving mill in Pulsnitz.

The fountain was one of eight public water troughs in Pulsnitz and was built in 1793 in the immediate vicinity of the post milestone erected in 1731 on the former upper market square. It replaced a wooden pipe fountain.

St. Michael's Chapel/Church and Cemetery, located in the cemetery in Pulsnitz. Information: Built in 1831, expanded in 1934. The cemetery is laid out like a park. The cemetery gate dates from the mid-19th century and features wrought-iron doors. Due to its layout, the numerous noteworthy graves and memorials, and the original furnishings, the chapel and cemetery are significant from both an architectural and local historical perspective.

Town Church. "To the Holy Name of God" in Radeberg. Information: The foundation stone for a stone church was laid in 1486, and it was completed in 1498. The tall spire was demolished in 1611 due to structural instability and replaced with a new, flat, truncated cupola covered in slate. During the town fire of July 13, 1714, the church interior was destroyed, and reconstruction was slow and hesitant.

This replica of the Electorate of Saxony postal milepost stands in front of the Pulsnitz shooting range (the original inscription block and coat of arms from 1731 are in the town hall).
