Unfortunately, it's no longer open. The decline of pubs has also affected this wonderful inn. I spent some wonderfully convivial hours here. What remains are the memories.

The forest floor has now swallowed all the walls. A few hewn stones remain there. But you can still see the depression in the terrain. The old run, or the place where the door must have been, is clearly visible. Until the 19th century, domestic pigs were driven into the forests for so-called "acorn fattening." This is probably where the saying "The best hams grow on oak trees" comes from.

Very nice hiking point on the Amanaburch tour. Since I had to abandon this first "very wet round", I will definitely do this hike in its entirety in the spring.
