The Neo-Gothic Cathedral of St. Daniel (Slovenian: Sv. Danijel) in Celje is the episcopal church of the Diocese of Celje. The church is the second building on this site and was built at the beginning of the 14th century as the monastery church of the monastery located outside the city. At the beginning of the 15th century, the present presbytery was supplemented by the Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows, an exceptionally high-quality piece of classical Gothic architecture, which also houses the Pietà.
