This viewpoint brings you out of the trees enough to get a nice lookout over the surrounding area, and maybe even a peek of Kodiak (the city) through the trees.

Lisa
March 22, 2024, North End Trail

This is one of the easiest and most popular trails in Kodiak (or as good as, since it's right next door on Near Island; you can walk here from the harbor if you want to). It offers great views, and you'll find multiple side trails leading down to rocky beaches along the water's edge. Don't forget to stop by Harborside Coffee and borrow a can of bear spray — that's always a good thing to have when hiking in bear country, and they loan it out for free.
