At Walder Käskuche you can enjoy delicious food and drinks from the small menu. There are seating options inside on two levels, as well as outside on the terrace with a view of the Nesselwanger Alpspitz and Reuterwanne. Integrated is the in-house brewery, a show cheese dairy and a small farm shop, which primarily offers its own cheese. In front of the Käskuche, cyclists will find a small service point with tools and a charging station for e-bikes. The Walder Käskuche is part of the neighboring Berghof Babel with a guesthouse, family apartments and hotel rooms, with conference facilities and a restaurant, as well as its own agriculture. The animals in the stables can also be visited by guests of the Käskuche. Tobias Babel was incidentally named Germany's Farmer of the Year in 2024, as he convinced the jury with his sustainability concept for the farm. In addition to Tobias, Michael is the chef and Simon is responsible for the cheese dairy at Babelhof.

(If they would just stop changing my name -.- Original name: Drinking water fountain in Wald im Allgäu) Drinking water quality not verified but there's no label on it (no drinking water is required to be labeled) and the water was cold on a 30°C day (so not warmed by cyclical operation)

You'll need a bit of luck for a great mountain view; we're in the Allgäu region, where the weather can change quickly. I live in Kempten and don't get to experience great days every day.

The Walder Käskuche is naturally located in the municipality of Wald in the Allgäu, and not in Görisried. It belongs to the neighboring Berghof Babel, a hotel with adventure gastronomy and a farm, as well as a show dairy and brewery. The Käskuche has a small but excellent menu, which is used by many hikers, cyclists, but also locals and car tourists, especially on weekends. In good weather, there is a beautiful terrace with mountain views. Inside, you rarely sit separately from other guests, which is part of the charm. Inside the Käskuche there is also the show dairy and a small cheese farm shop. If you are traveling with your children, you should definitely also go to the neighboring farm of the Berghof Babel and look at the animals there (first farm with a puzzle tour for the children, then Käskuche and collect a small prize for the solution word of the puzzle tour). By the way: Tobias Babel, who runs the Berghof with his two siblings and his parents, was named Farmer of the Year and Cattle Farmer of the Year in Germany in 2024.
